Life at Proprium: Rea Kurtović
Starting a new job can be both exciting and intimidating, especially when you are an entry-level candidate. At 24 years old, I found myself embarking on my first real professional journey as a Sales, Partnerships, and Community Management Assistant at Proprium, a role I held for the following 10 months.

While searching for a job, I came across countless opportunities labeled as “entry-level,” yet many still required prior experience. Over time, the process of finding a job became rather discouraging, as it often felt like there was little space for true beginners. Discovering this genuinely entry-level role at Proprium brought an immediate sense of relief. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed, not only as someone eager to learn, but as someone whose fresh perspective was encouraged and valued.
From day one, I was motivated to grow and develop professionally. Wanting to better understand sales processes, I independently enrolled in the HubSpot Academy course on Inbound Sales Methodology. The course covered essential concepts, from buyer personas to guiding potential clients through their decision-making journey. Completing the course and earning the certification gave me greater confidence and helped me approach my role with a stronger foundation.
Around that time, Proprium was preparing an internal education session for new members of the marketing and sales teams. I was given the opportunity to contribute by sharing insights from the HubSpot course and connecting them with the company’s brand and strategic approach. Together with my colleagues, I worked on a presentation that covered key brand elements and inbound sales principles. Being trusted to contribute so early in my journey helped me improve my communication skills and better understand how sales and marketing strategies align with a company’s mission.
Beyond sales and marketing tasks, I gained hands-on experience working with CRM systems: organizing data, tracking communication, and supporting relationship management processes. This experience is particularly valuable, as CRM knowledge is essential in larger companies and scalable business environments, and it provided me with practical skills that will be useful throughout my future career.
One of the most inspiring aspects of my time at Proprium was working closely with Laura. It is simply impossible not to feel inspired by her passion for entrepreneurship, systems, and building sustainable businesses. Her energy, clarity, and vision consistently motivated those around her, myself included.
As a Community Management Assistant, I had the opportunity to support Laura in organizing, launching, and maintaining a pilot project designed for women entrepreneurs. The project focused on teaching participants the importance of building solid systems behind every business, systems that support growth and function like a well-oiled machine. I assisted participants with completing their tasks, helped keep communication organized, and took part in moderating the sessions themselves. Through this experience, I learned an incredible amount of practical, applicable knowledge that went far beyond my initial role description.
This project, and my collaboration with Laura overall, gave me valuable insight into what it truly means to build and sustain a business. It also sparked something personal; through working with her, I began to see entrepreneurship as a real and attainable path for myself, and I now hope that one day I will also have the courage to explore entrepreneurial waters.
Another major advantage of this role was its flexibility. The position was perfectly suited for students who want to gain their first professional experience while still prioritizing academic responsibilities. Clear expectations, trust, and a well-structured workflow made it possible to balance work, studies, and personal development without unnecessary pressure.
Beyond the responsibilities themselves, the team atmosphere made a lasting impression on me. Even in moments that were occasionally stressful, the environment always remained light and supportive. Everyone was willing to help one another, communicate openly and compassionately, share a laugh, and turn even demanding days into moments that passed far too quickly.
As I come to the end of my collaboration with Proprium, I do so with genuine gratitude. This experience provided me with practical skills, confidence, and clarity, as well as a deep appreciation for supportive leadership and meaningful work. To anyone looking for a flexible, student-friendly role that offers real responsibility, learning opportunities, and inspiration, I wholeheartedly recommend Proprium.
